My Cook Family Genealogy
Break out of frames
I have virtually no information about my paternal grandmother, Miriam K. Ladd née Cook.
This is the information I have from SSDI:
Miriam Ladd, b. 13 May 1878, New Sharon Iowa, d/o Wm. Henry Cook and Mary Jane Call
d. August 1962, Delaware
All the same information is on her SS application with this one additional bit of info:
Miriam Kate Ladd (née Cook)
Another interesting piece of information was revealed by my sister.
My mother always told my sister that our grandmother's birthday was 12 May, but
when my sister was born on 13 May, Grandma started telling everyone her
birthday was 13 May and that she shared a birthday with her granddaughter.
Is this true, or was my mother mistaken? More mystery....
While looking through old papers, I found a place where I had scribbled down the following information:
Miriam Katherine Cook (Ladd) born in New Sharon Iowa, May 13, 1878.
Frank Cook -- brother
Mabel Cook -- sister
Cook
150 Ivy Avenue
Hollywood California
I have been infamous for jotting down notes while talking to relatives then losing the paper. This once I did recover a tiny bit of info, but have no idea if it came from my Aunt Bernice or my mother. Also, I don't know if the info on the brother or sister's names, my grandmother's middle name, nor the old address from California might have been accurate.
*sigh*
If anyone has any info on my grandma, please email me!
